MAY 23--Diffraction Limited (Ottawa, Canada) has formed a strategic alliance with Apogee Instruments Inc. (Auburn, CA), a manufacturer of scientific-grade CCD imaging cameras for astronomy, biomedical research, and industrial applications. Diffraction is a supplier of control and image-processing software used by Apogee CCD imaging cameras, including MaxIm DL/CCD and MicroCCD.
This new alliance brings a higher level of integration between these complimentary product lines. MaxIm Plus, a special version of MaxIm DL/CCD will be bundled with all Apogee systems. MaxIm Plus will contain exclusive advanced features tailored to obtain maximum performance from Apogee CCD imaging cameras. These include time delay integration, autotricolor, default TIFF support, and additional advanced features under development
In addition, Diffraction and Apogee will be combining their technical capabilities to develop imaging solutions for the biomedical imaging market. The two companies will also cooperate in the development of custom and semicustom solutions for OEM equipment manufacturers. OEM customers can consider the combined resources of Diffraction and Apogee available to them for the development of OEM imaging solutions.
