1394 Trade Association elects Eric Anderson chairman for 2003, Max Bassler vice chair

JANUARY 21--The 1394 Trade Association (Grapevine, TX) elected Eric Anderson of Apple Computer as its 2003 chairman, with Max Bassler of Molex Inc. as vice chair, during its first quarter meetings recently.

JANUARY 21--The 1394 Trade Association (Grapevine, TX) elected Eric Anderson of Apple Computer as its 2003 chairman, with Max Bassler of Molex Inc. as vice chair, during its first quarter meetings recently. The group also set its next Compliance and Interoperability Workshop for Feb. 3-5 at the Embassy Suites in Burlingame, CA.

The members of the 1394 TA board for 2003 include John Barber of NEC Electronics; Alan Berkema of Hewlett Packard, who will serve as editor; Scott Fierstein of Microsoft; Angela Lee of Mitsubishi; Sam Liu of Newnex; Larry Matola, Delphi Automotive; Richard Mourn, Quantum Parametrics; Declan O'Mahoney, Firecomms (Ireland); Jalil Oraee of Oxford Semiconductor (UK), who will serve as finance chairman; Andreas Schloissnik of Yokogawa Electric; Cecelia Smith of Texas Instruments; Scott Smyers of Sony, who will serve as technical officer; Dave Thompson of Agere Systems, elected as secretary; and Hans van der Ven of Panasonic.

Compliance Workshop features full 1394 test suites

The next Trade Association-sponsored Compliance and Interoperability Workshop will be the year's first in a quarterly series. It provides a complete set of test suites designed to ensure that consumer, computer, and industrial products equipped with 1394/FireWire work together. At the fall 2002 workshop, a total of 63 nodes operated simultaneously during the event's "Grand Melee." For more information, visit www.1394ta.org.
