1394 Trade Association names James Snider executive director

AUGUST 14--The 1394 Trade Association (TA; Santa Clara, CA) named James Snider as its new executive director. Snider joins the Trade Association from Texas Instruments Inc. to assume a newly created position.

AUGUST 14--The 1394 Trade Association (TA; Santa Clara, CA) named James Snider as its new executive director. Snider joins the Trade Association from Texas Instruments Inc. to assume a newly created position. He reports to Max Bassler, chairman of the 1394 Trade Association.

Snider served as representative to the 1394 Trade Association board of directors and in a variety of positions on the TA's executive team, including marketing director (1995--1997) and TA chairman (1998--2000). He has been an active member of the Trade Association since its foundation.

"James knows the technology, products, and prospects of the 1394 standard extremely well and is an ideal choice for our new executive director post," said Bassler. "With James at the helm, we are well positioned to take advantage of the next move forward in multimedia technology."
