NOVEMBER 27--Stentor Inc. (South San Francisco, CA; www.stentor.com) has released iSite 3.0, an advanced image- and information-management system. iSite 3.0 includes enhancements to the company's flagship product iSite Enterprise image-distribution product and expands to include iSite Radiology, a softcopy diagnosis workstation, and iVault, an always-on-line medical-image archiving system.

"Stentor has been very successful in offering hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers an enterprisewide distribution solution that solves 90% of their image-distribution challenges," said Oran Muduroglu, president and chief executive officer of Stentor. "More than 80 hospitals and clinics currently use iSite Enterprise."

iSite 3.0 is based on Stentor's core iSyntax technology, which enables instantaneous diagnostic-quality image distribution anywhere across the enterprise without affecting network speed or image quality. Version 3.0 expands Stentor's support for imaging modalities to include multiframe DICOM objects for ultrasound, nuclear medicine, photon emission tomography, and angiography. Version 3.0 also includes support for traditional x-ray modalities including digital radiography and mammography, color support for all modalities, teleradiology, multimonitor support, and secure socket layer encryption.
