DECEMBER 19--The Sagemark Companies Ltd. has announced that its subsidiary, Premier PET Imaging International Inc., anticipates opening four additional positron-emission-tomography (PET) medical diagnostic imaging centers in the first half of 2002. The company's first PET imaging center opened in October 2001 in Wichita, KS.

Positron-emission-tomography is an advanced noninvasive early detection diagnostic imaging technology currently used for detection of certain cancers, cardiac viability, and neurological disorders. This revolutionary medical diagnostic imaging technology allows physicians to accurately diagnose life-threatening diseases earlier than ever before, obviating unnecessary diagnostic or invasive surgical procedures. Robert M. McFarland, M.D., national medical director for Premier PET Imaging International, believes that "PET medical imaging is the most accurate noninvasive diagnostic procedure available today."
