SEPTEMBER 30--Honeywell (Morristown, NJ; www.honeywell.com) now is offering web-imaging systems to Canadian paper manufacturers. Honeywell's Process Solutions, with operations in Phoenix, AZ, will develop web-imaging systems to monitor impurities, holes, and other defects as a web of paper travels through a paper production machine or printing press.

Under the terms of this agreement, Honeywell's partner Cognex Corp. (Natick, MA; www.cognex.com) will supply vision technology for the web-imaging systems, which Honeywell will then produce, market, and sell to Canadian paper manufacturers. More than 600 Honeywell/Cognex web-imaging systems are in place around the world, according to Honeywell. Honeywell is a $23 billion diversified technology and manufacturing firm based in Morris Township, NJ. Cognex, designs, develops, manufactures, and markets machine-vision systems, specializing in the manufacturing industry.
