Spectra-Physics expands infrared optical-coating capability

APRIL 15--Spectra-Physics (www.spectra-physics.com) has enhanced its Corion Filter product offering by expanding its capabilities to design, manufacture, and test infrared optics.

APRIL 15--Spectra-Physics (www.spectra-physics.com) has enhanced its Corion Filter product offering by expanding its capabilities to design, manufacture, and test infrared optics. In addition to its already extensive offerings, the company now produces optics and thin-film coatings for use in the IR region from 1 to 20 μm. Adding this capability addresses the growing needs of the IR user community for quality, high-performance filters, precision coatings, and optics.

"With these new enhancements to our existing lineup we can better address the growing needs of infrared-imaging OEM's, as well as the detection and imaging needs of defense and aerospace contractors," said David Montgomery, Spectra-Physics product line sales director.

Founded in 1961, Spectra-Physics was the first commercial laser business and has grown to become a global leader in the design, development, manufacture, and distribution of solid-state and high-power semiconductor lasers, gas lasers, and ultrafast systems for industrial, scientific, microelectronics, and biomedical markets. Today, Spectra-Physics has expanded to provide a broader spectrum of photonics products, capabilities, and services including Corion thin-film interference filters, Hilger scintillation and electro-optic crystals, replicated diffraction gratings from Richardson Gratings, Oriel Catalog and Instruments, and CIDTEC charged-injection device (CID) solid-state video cameras.
