DECEMBER 18--The board of directors of 3D Systems Corp. (Valencia, CA; www.3dsystems.com) has named Grant R. Flaharty executive vice president of global business operations and E. James Selzer senior vice president, in recognition of the strong performance and leadership of these senior executives. Founded in 1986, 3D Systems provides solid imaging products and solutions that help reduce the time and cost of designing products and facilitate direct and indirect manufacturing. Its systems utilize patented technologies that create physical objects from digital input.

Flaharty joined 3D Systems in April 1998 as worldwide controller and was named vice president and general manager of the company's European operations in September 1999. He has worked closely with CEO Brian Service to develop the company's strategic direction and operations, leading the effort to acquire RPC Ltd., of Marly, Switzerland, and OptoForm SARL earlier this year. In his new position, Flaharty will be responsible for global business development and operations as well as finalizing the integration of RPC and developing 3D Systems' materials supply and development capabilities. Additionally, he is expected to champion the development and commercialization of the OptoForm technology.

Selzer began working with 3D Systems in 1999 and was named vice president of finance in April 2000. He was named chief financial officer in November 2000, a position he continues to hold.
