Newport announces the URB100CC high speed rotation stage
Newport’s new URB100CC features a proprietary 4-point contact ball bearing. The two-piece design provides exceptional rigidity and high reliability while minimizing wobble and eccentricity.
Newport Corporation (Irvine, CA, USA), a worldwide leader in lasers and photonics solutions, introduces the URB100CC High Speed Rotation Stage. The URB100CC is the newest product in Newport’s popular rotation stage product line. Designed to provide high speed rotation at an exceptional price, theURB100CC is an excellent solution for motion applications that require fast moves over larger angles or continuous rotation at very high duty cycles, with high precision performance relative to wobble, angular repeatability, and speed stability. Typical applications are LIDAR, 3D imaging, and film thickness measurements of semiconductor wafers.

The URB100CC rotation stage is based on the successful URS series, but features a belt drive, instead of a worm gear. The belt drive provides significantly higher rotation speeds of up to 720 degrees/second without sacrificing life.”
Newport’s new URB100CC features a proprietary 4-point contact ball bearing. This unique, two-piece design provides exceptional rigidity and high reliability while minimizing wobble and eccentricity. The enhanced low-profile package facilitates easy top-mounting options and is mechanically compatible with Newport’s ILS linear stage series (note, the motor protrudes below the lower surface of the stage). For added convenience, position feedback is provided by a motor-mounted 2000-point rotary encoder.
