Scalable line of CMOS image sensors for automotive applications introduced

Designed for deployment in automotive applications including ADAS, mirror replacement, rear and surround view systems and autonomous driving, the new Hayabusa platform of CMOS image sensors from ON Semiconductor feature a backside-illuminated 3 µm pixel design that delivers a charge capacity of 100,000 electrons.

Designed for deployment in automotive applications including ADAS, mirror replacement, rear and surround view systems and autonomous driving, the new Hayabusa platform of CMOS image sensors from ON Semiconductor feature a backside-illuminated 3 µm pixel design that delivers a charge capacity of 100,000 electrons. Other key automotive features include simultaneous on-chip high dynamic range (HDR) with LED flicker mitigation (LFM), plus real-time functional safety and automotive grade qualification.

The first product in the Hayabusa line is the AR0233, which is a 2.6 MPixel CMOS image sensor capable of running at 60 fps. The AR0233 features multi-exposure mode for >140 dB high dynamic range, full resolution LED flicker mitigation with 120 dB high dynamic range, and >95 dB dynamic range from one exposure.
