Having only been previously available for the mvBlueGEMINI smart camera, mvIMPACT Configuration Studio (CS) from MATRIX VISION is now available for use on a PC with the release of version 2.2 of the software.

mvIMPACT-CS enables users to setup inspection applications wihtout any programming knowledge. The software can be used with GigE Vision or USB3 Vision-compatible industrial cameras, and features tools such as "HALCON Script," which enables users to load and execute HALCON scripts.

With the latest release, three new functions have also been added to the "Measure object" tool. This includes the optimization of the distance measurement between two lines and the ability to set the intersection point of two lines as a starting point for distance measurement. Lastly, when used as starting points, the edges of an image are available to be used for X and Y measurements. Additionally, MATRIX VISION has added "Filter image" and "Check blobs" tools for inspection applications.
