New from Matrix Vision is the mvBlueFOX3-2064 USB3 Vision camera, which is available in color and monochrome versions, as well as in housed or board-level versions. The camera features the Sony IMX178 STARVIS sensor, which is a 6.4 MPixel rolling shutter sensor that can reach a frame rate of 50.1 fps at full resolution and features a 2.4 µm pixel size. The camera features triggering, which was not included by Sony, but was made possible using this sensor by Matrix Vision developers. The developers have also implemented “mvRollingShutterFlash,” which is a special mode that makes it easier to use the flash. Additionally, USB3 Vision camera features an FPGA for image preprocessing, an image memory of 256 MBytes, and is compatible with the GenICam and USB3 Vision standards.
