From May 21-24 in Santa Clara, CA, USA, more than 1,200 engineers, product designers, business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs are expected to gather at the Embedded Vision Summit 2018 to discuss and learn about the latest in embedded vision, including computer vision and deep learning technology.

From May 21-24 in Santa Clara, CA, USA, more than 1,200 engineers, product designers, business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs are expected to gather at the Embedded Vision Summit 2018 to discuss and learn about the latest in embedded vision, including computer visionand deep learning technology.

Focused on the technologies, hardware, and software that bring visual intelligence to products—at the edge and in the cloud—the 2018 summit will provide attendees a chance to learn the latest about the latest applications, technologies, and opportunities in computer vision and deep learning.

During the Summit, there will be two days of sessions that consist of more than 80 presentations from more than 100 speakers, including keynotes, case studies, unique insights, and demonstrations. Sessions are broken into four tracks:

  • Technical Insights Track: Featuring introductory and advanced “how-to” session on tools, algorithms, and techniques across applications such as the cloud, embedded, mobile, and wearable. Speakers from companies such as Intel, Facebook, and ARM.
  • Business Insights Track: Learn about the latest market and technology trends and hear how industry leaders are bringing value to a wide range of industries using computer vision. Speakers from companies such as IBM, Intel, and iRobot will present.
  • Enabling Technologies Track: Discover the latest computer vision tools, processors, and other technologies that you can use to develop practical, marketable, innovative products now. Speakers from companies such as Lattice, Qualcomm, and Microsoft will present.
  • Fundamentals Track: This new track will feature introductory tutorials led by computer vision technology leaders and is perfect for those who are new to the embedded vision field -- or to some aspects of it. Speakers from companies such as Google, AMD, and MIT will present.

On May 21, the first day of the Summit, the Embedded Vision Alliance is offering a training class on Deep Learning for Computer Vision with TensorFlow. The single-day program will provide attendees with a hands-on overview of deep learning applications of TensorFlow. >>> Learn more here.

The fourth day of the summit, May 24, is dedicated to a one-day workshop dedicated to vision technology. These workshops are organized by Embedded Vision Alliance Member companies (Khronos Group, Intel, and Synopsis), and are presented by experienced engineers from these companies. Topics will cover Khronos standards for neural networks and embedded vision, optimized inference at the edge, and artificial intelligence from concept to implementation. >>> Learn more here.

At The Vision Technology Showcase, attendees will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of the latest vision processors, tools, software, and applications, as well as hear presentations on these products from experienced application engineers. There will be demonstrations of such products from more than 50 companies, such as Allied Vision,CEVA,MVTec,New Imaging Technologies, and Vision Components.

Also held at the Summit will be The Vision Tank competition, during which five finalist companies will compete by presenting their innovations to a panel of investors and industry experts for the chance to win a grand prize.
