MARCH 22--Research Systems Inc. (RSI; Rochester, NY; www.researchsystems.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company, has appointed ImageMaps Pte. Ltd. as the exclusive distributor of RSI's suite of data-analysis and visualization software products throughout Southeast Asia. The countries served by ImageMaps include Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

"The global market for remote sensing is growing at a considerable rate, especially with the introduction of high-resolution satellite imaging systems," said Gillian Webster, vice president of North America sales and marketing for RSI. "The need for tools to take advantage of the data and information is overwhelming. With ImageMaps representing our products in Southeast Asia, we will be able to more effectively respond to local customers' needs as the market continues to reach this important region."

ImageMaps, which is headquartered in Singapore and has affiliated offices around Southeast Asia, first partnered with RSI in 1998 to sell the company's popular remote-sensing product, ENVI. Since then, with annual sales growth exceeding 25%, the move to a full distributorship was the next logical progression in this business relationship. ImageMaps plans to distribute RSI's entire suite of products including ENVI, IDL, ION, VIP, Noesys, and Flaash.
