STIL signs distribution agreements with Edmund Optics and Polytec

Feb. 15, 2011
Optical sensor supplier STIL has signed distribution agreements with optics and optical component supplier Edmund Optics, as well as with Polytec GmbH, a distributor of imaging system components, cameras, and lighting products.

Optical sensor supplier STIL (Aix en Provence, France) has signed a distribution agreement with optics and optical component supplier Edmund Optics (Barrington, NJ, USA).

Edmund Optics will offer three different models of STIL’s confocal chromatic sensor STIL INITIAL, in its catalog and online. The new sensor range enables high-precision measurement in confocal chromatic imaging at a lower cost. Each sensor model includes a complete set (controller, optical pen, optical fiber, and software on USB key) for €5100. The lineup comprises three different models: STIL Initial 0.4 (0.4-mm measuring range, 22-nm axial resolution); STIL Initial 4 (4-mm measuring range, 160-nm axial resolution); and STIL Initial 12 (12-mm measuring range, 400-nm axial resolution).

STIL has also signed a distribution agreement with Polytec GmbH, a distributor of imaging system components, cameras, and lighting products. The agreement covers the distribution of STIL’s chromatic confocal chromatic sensors as well as white light interferometric sensors, taking effect as of January 2011. Previously, STIL products were distributed in Germany under the brand name of another local distributor. Going forward the sensors are available from Polytec.

The agreement supports further development of STIL’s distribution network. In addition to its activities on the German market, Polytec’s foreign subsidiaries will distribute STIL sensors.
