ADLINK Technology Inc.—which recently announced its promotion by Intel toPremier Member in the Intel Intelligent Systems Alliance and launched its first Intel industrial solutions embedded computer—has announced the acquisition of German embedded computer and monitor manufacturer PENTA.
The deal, which is valued at approximately $7.4 million, will strengthen ADLINK’s offerings in themedical and industrial automation markets.
"By leveraging PENTA's solid design methodology and manufacturing capabilities, ADLINK's medical product line can be effectively improved. This will also help to enable access to adjacent markets with similar critical requirements," said Jim Liu, CEO of ADLINK in apress release."
He added, "Furthermore, the synergy of this acquisition with respect to global sales, improved production control, market development and product comprehensiveness will be brought into full play. With the addition of PENTA's technical team, ADLINK will be able to provide better support to its worldwide customers in Europe and increase its global market share in the medical market."
Walter Steinbeißer, a founder and managing director of PENTA, agreed, noting that the acquisition will generate several synergy strategies.
"With the deep vertical integration of ADLINK, we are able to offer our customers standard products, semi-custom and OEM products while covering the entire spectrum from electronics development all the way to the fully assembled and tested device," he said.
