FEBRUARY 5--StockerYale Inc. (Salem, NH; www.stockeryale.com), an independent provider of advanced illumination and optical products, has announced that its subsidiary, StockerYale Asia PTE Ltd. in Singapore, received an order valued at US$659K for the delivery of an integrated machine-vision system solution that incorporates hardware and software for an imaging management application. This order represents StockerYale Asia's largest single order to date.

The order was placed by one of Malaysia's largest R&D facilities established in early 2003 as the result of a collaborative effort between a US-based multinational company and the Malaysian Government. This burgeoning R&D center is positioning itself to become a leader in developing leading-edge technologies with a concentration on nanotechnology, electrochemistry, microelectronics, materials science, and information technology.

Christopher Cheong, managing director for StockerYale Asia located in Singapore, stated, "After many months of hard work, we were extremely pleased to have been chosen to supply this growing R&D center in Malaysia with our turn-key machine-vision solution. Shipments are scheduled for delivery by the end of the first quarter 2004," added Cheong.

"This order represents a great win for our Singapore team," said Mark W. Blodgett, StockerYale's chairman and chief executive officer. "We are optimistic that the Asia-Pacific market is recovering and we look forward to increased sales revenues from our Singapore subsidiary during fiscal 2004," Blodgett continued.
