IDS Imaging Development Systems has announced a 100-model expansion of the company’s line of USB3 Vision cameras, with new models being rolled out over several weeks. A new platform-independent SDK, called IDS Peak, has also been released.

The U3-3890CP industrial camera, available in color and monochrome, is kicking off the new USB3 camera line. The U3-3890CP features a Sony STARVIS 12 MPixel IMX226 rolling shutter image sensor with 4000 x 3000 resolution, 1.85 µm pixel size in 1/1.7” optical format, can achieve 32 fps, and has a 29 x 29 x 29 mm footprint.

The 2.1 MPixel IMX290 image sensor and 6.4 MPixel IMX178 image sensor are also currently available in U3V color and mono camera models.

The IDS peak SDK is designed to provide direct access to GenTL and GenAPI and offers convenience classes to reduce the amount of required coding and programming. The new USB3 cameras support IDS Peak. The SDK is currently available for download.
