Lightweight Cameras Introduced

July 6, 2022
The company says the 5-MPixel models are suited for integration into small handheld devices.

Teledyne FLIR has added two new global shutter CMOS cameras to its Blackfly S UB3 camera line—the BFS-U3-50S4M-C and BFS-U3-50S4C-C. Weighing 53 grams, the C-mount cameras leverage Sony’s IMX547 sensor and have a resolution of 2448 x 2048 at 72 fps. The small pixel size enables less expensive, more compact optics, and the high sensitivity (High QE and Low AST) reduces lighting system requirements. The company says the 5 MP models are suited for integration into small handheld devices and for challenging applications such as those in biometrics and scientific research.
