GigE Vision cameras feature Sony Pregius CMOS image sensors.

Emergent Vision Technologies has announced the upcoming launch of the new Eros camera series, a new line of GigE Vision industrial area scan cameras. The Eros camera line will feature cameras designed to be lower speed, smaller footprint, and less expensive than other Emergent cameras but offer similar options. For example, the Eros cameras will feature many of the same Sony Pregius CMOS image sensors that are currently offered in higher speed cameras.  Emergent camera lines offer Emergent’s zero-copy imaging technology, which refers to the use of built-in header splitting features in network interface cards (NICs) to perform zero-copy image transfer. The Eros cameras will be offered at 1, 2.5, and 5 GigE speed options, and will offer color, monochrome, SWIR, and polarized camera model options. The cameras  are designed for a wide array of machine vision functions, especially inspection applications.
