It contains a reprogrammable processing core and two independent frame buffers to buffer reference images, incoming camera images, and intermediate results. The core performs both basic and multistep image-processing functions, including point-to-point, neighborhood, and statistical operations on images. Application-specific packages and a library of image-processing functions are available.
