Machine-vision and video surveillance technology provider Euresys s.a. (Angleur, Belgium) has named Marc Damhaut as chief executive officer. Damhaut replaces Patrick Bergmans, who held the position for 6 years. Bergmans remains as a consultant for the company as well as chairman of the board of directors.
Damhaut joined Euresys Belgium at the company's inception in 1989. He has been sales manager of the Asia-Pacific region, director of Euresys Pte Ltd. in Singapore, and senior vice president of product management for the company during his tenure. He has more than 20 years of experience in the imaging technology fields and markets, including machine vision, medical imaging, factory automation, and video surveillance.
Damhaut assumed responsibilities as CEO of Euresys s.a. as of Oct. 1, 2011, operating from Singapore. Claude Latin, who held the position of chief financial officer at Euresys for 10 years, has been appointed chief operating officer, responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the Belgian company.
Damhaut intends to continue developing the video surveillance business and to increase Euresys' market share in the machine vision business. "The field of computer vision offers tremendous growth prospects, with a significant number of new applications and business opportunities," says Damhaut. "Euresys is well positioned to seize these opportunities, and I am looking forward to helping the team take Euresys to the next level."
