System measures moving objects

May 15, 2008
SPARC (surface pattern analyzer and roughness calculator) optical measuring system can capture three-dimensional images of moving objects. Using three synchronized cameras and special lamps in combination with partially transparent dielectric mirrors, only one single camera shot with approximately 100-µs exposure time is necessary. Typical applications are inspection of embossed structures, braille dots, and surface profiles.
