Andor Technology has announced the release of the iKon-M SY and Newton SY series of cameras, which feature a 200 µm-thick light tight Beryllium window that gives an 8% increase in transmission at 3 keV over industry-standard 250 µm windows. The cameras offer -148°F (-100°C) deep cooling optimized for the soft X-ray region. iKon-M SY 1,024 x 1,024 pixel cameras feature CCD image sensors with 13 µm x 13 µm pixel size, a max readout rate of 5 MHz, and a frame rate of 4.4 fps at full resolution. Newton SY cameras are available in 1,024 x 255 or 2,048 x 512 pixel models and feature CCD image sensors with either 26 µm x 26 µm or 13.5 µm x 13.5 µm pixel size. In addition, the Newton SY cameras feature a max readout read of up to 3 MHz. Both cameras feature USB 2.0 interface and are integrated and supported in a range of third-party software using Andor’s SDK, including MATLab, LABView and EPICs. These cameras are suitable for use in soft X-ray imaging and X-ray fluorescence applications.
