New 2.3 MPixel and 5.3 MPixel CMOS image sensors have been added to ON Semiconductor’s PYTHON line of sensors. The PYTHON 2000 (2.3 MPixel) and PYTHON 5000 (5.3 MPixel) global shutter sensors feature a pixel size of 4.8 µm x 4.8 µm and are available in color, monochrome, and near infrared. The PYTHON 2000 achieves a frame rate of 245 fps at full resolution, while the PYTHON 5000 can reach 105 fps. The sensors feature 8-bit or 10-bit output mode, random programmable region of interest mode, pipelined and triggered global shutter, and on-chop fixed pattern noise correction. The new PYTHON sensors are designed for such applications as machine vision, security and surveillance, and intelligent transportation systems.
