MAY 28, 2009--Allied Vision Technologies (AVT; Stadtroda, Germany) and OpteamX (Azor, Israel) have signed a distribution contract granting OpteamX the rights for the exclusive distribution of AVT digital cameras in Israel beginning in May 2009. OpteamX, a supplier of machine vision components and solutions with headquarters near Tel Aviv, has been selling Prosilica cameras since 2006.
As a result of the acquisition of Prosilica by Allied Vision Technologies in July 2008, OpteamX will now offer both AVT FireWire and Prosilica GigE Vision cameras.
AVT cited the fact that OpteamX has performed well as a Prosilica distributor in the past, so it was a natural move to expand the distribution agreement to the whole AVT portfolio as part of the consolidation of our sales channels.
