Newly-added to the line of xiB PCI Express high-speed cameras from XIMEA is the CB500 model, which is available in color or monochrome, and features a 48 MPixel CMOS sensor. The sensor used in the camera is the CMV50000 global shutter sensor from CMOSIS (ams), which provides 8, 10, 12 or 14-bit images and with a PCI Express interface, can reach a frame rate of 30 fps at full resolution.
The camera’s data and control interface is fully compliant with PCI Express External Cabling Specifications, which allows 20 Gbit/s and real data throughput of 1550 MB/s. Additionally, fiber optic cabling can be used for data streaming direct to memory from distances of up to 300m without the need for frame grabbers or specialized software.
