Matrox Imaging has announced the Matrox 4Sight EV6 vision controller, built around a seventh-generator Intel Core processor. The new vision controller has four Gigabit Ethernet and four SuperSpeed USB ports to connect with GigE Vision and USB3 cameras. The Gigabit Ethernet ports also support power-over-Ethernet functionality.

The Matrox 4Sight EV6 features RS-232/RS-485 ports that support connections to legacy automation devices. Two additional GigE ports can connect to cell and enterprise networks and include hardware-assisted PROFINET communication. Integrated real-time digital I/Os with rotary support can assist with equipment synchronization.

The Matrox 4Sight EV6 is fanless, which according to Matrox will reduce the need for physical maintenance. An early-access version of the new vision controller will be available from Matrox in Q1 2019.
