Latest Quartz CMOS camera model from Adimec transfers up to 340 frames/s

Aug. 3, 2011
The Quartz Q-2A430 area-scan camera from Adimec uses a 2-Mpixel, global-shutter-enabled CMOS sensor, transmitting up to 340 frames/s at 2048 x 1088-pixel resolution (10 bits per pixel).

The Quartz Q-2A430 area-scan camera uses a 2-Mpixel, global-shutter-enabled CMOS sensor, transmitting up to 340 frames/s at 2048 x 1088-pixel resolution (10 bits per pixel). The images are transmitted via a 10-tap Camera Link interface or two standard coaxial cables using dual CoaXPress interfaces. Signal-to-noise ratio is improved by up to 12 dB shot noise over previous models. High-dynamic-range (HDR) mode enables dynamic capture of large scenes. Monochrome and color versions are available, with optional near-infrared (NIR) capabilities.

NEW PRODUCT PRESS RELEASE

Adimec enhances QUARTZ CMOS-based high-speed camera line with new 2-megapixel, 340 fps QUARTZ Q-2A340 model

New member of proven high-speed camera family offers more flexibility, optional CoaXPress or Camera Link interfaces available

Eindhoven, the Netherlands -- Adimec, a specialist in application-specific, leading-edge industrial camera solutions, has introduced the QUARTZ Q-2A340 area scan camera, extending its line of Quartz cameras based on high-performance CMOS sensors from CMOSIS. This camera combines global shutter CMOS technology with the proprietary Adimec True Accurate Imaging approach that results in CCD-like image quality with unmatched speed. The 2 megapixel Q-2A340 transmits up to 340 frames per second (FPS) at a 2048 x 1088 resolution with 10 bits per pixel over either a standard 10 tap Camera Link interface or two standard coaxial cables using the dual CoaXPress version.

“Systems developers have a range of needs and a single camera cannot meet all requirements. We continue to build on the proven foundation of our QUARTZ family and the use of our True Accurate Imaging approach to provide an optimal combination of speed and quality. This new addition to the product line offers another way to take advantage of the Adimec innovations in CMOS-based cameras, with a flexible and cost-effective solution for a wide spectrum of vision applications,” said Marcel Dijkema, strategic product manager at Adimec.

As with other members of the QUARTZ family, the new camera offers a range of quality-enhancing features. Advanced Flat Field Correction (FFC) capabilities, even in color and with field calibration support, deliver better image uniformity. The camera delivers signal-to-noise improvements of up to 12 dB shot noise improvement compared to off-the-shelf CMOS sensor performance. It also offers an HDR mode for large scene dynamic capture capabilities.

The QUARTZ Q-2A340 uses True Accurate Imaging to manage inherent sensor imperfections and maximize image uniformity, image reproducibility, blemish corrections and signal to noise performance. True Accurate Imaging improves the quality of images to provide accurate registration of the smallest details.

The QUARTZ Q-2A340 camera is available in monochrome or color models, and offers optional near infrared (NIR) capabilities. Customization of the camera is supported to optimally fit the application needs.
