Alex Shikany, Vice President of AIA, presented an updated report of the state of the North American machine vision market at the AIA’s 16th networking reception at VISION 2018 in Stuttgart, Germany this past November.

Shikany began by noting that the machine vision in North America is quite healthy, having seen 17.5% raw growth in the first half of 2018 compared to the first half of 2017. Additionally, total sales—including components and systems—grew 7% overall in 2018 and is expected to grow by a rate of 3% in 2019. The presentation also includes data on industrial production, new manufacturing orders, industry outlooks, a machine vision systems integrator survey, market development trends, and more.
