Teledyne e2v expands its Flash CMOS image sensor family with new 1K and 8K models

SEVILLE, Spain, September 8, 2026 — Teledyne e2v, a Teledyne Technologies [NYSE: TDY] company and global innovator of imaging solutions, today announced Flash™ 1K2 and Flash 8K, the latest additions to its Flash CMOS image sensor family. The new sensors join the existing Flash 2K and Flash 4K devices, extending the portfolio from 1K to 8K resolutions.

Flash 1K2 (1K x 1K) delivers up to 3,000 frames per second (fps) at full frame and is specifically designed to capture fast-moving events and perform precise high‑speed measurements. Flash 8K (8K x 1K) achieves 1,800 fps, providing a powerful solution for high-end 3D laser profiling applications and high-speed, high-resolution inspection systems.

Like all members of the Flash family, both sensors are based on Teledyne e2v’s proven 6 µm CMOS global shutter pixel, combining high resolution, fast frame rates, and excellent image quality. They also include advanced application-oriented features such as high dynamic range (HDR) modes up to 100 dB, multiple regions of interest (ROI), and frame-to-frame programmability, enabling dynamic system optimization.

Built on a single-tap architecture, Flash sensors are designed for easy integration while maintaining high performance. The Flash family also includes existing Flash 2K (2K x 1K, 1,500 fps full frame) and Flash 4K (4K x 1K, 1,800 fps full frame) models.

With the addition of Flash 1K2 and Flash 8K, the Flash family now spans resolutions from 1K to 8K. Customers can select the optimal combination of resolution, speed, and system cost for demanding industrial and scientific applications while benefiting from a common architecture, feature set, and development platform.
