The Embedded Vision Summit will become part of SPIE Photonics West in 2027.
The move was announced in a May 11, 2026, press release by the Edge AI and Vision Alliance, a worldwide industry partnership that supports companies developing and using physical and edge AI, computer vision, and related technologies, and SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. The purpose of this move, say Alliance and SPIE officials in a press release, is to further grow and develop the Embedded Vision Summit by combining its well-regarded technical program with SPIE’s global reach, operational scale, and broad technical ecosystem.
Since its founding in 2012, the Embedded Vision Summit has grown and developed into a premiere conference for engineers, integrators, and innovators who incorporate computer vision and physical AI in various products, systems, and services.
SPIE, which was founded in 1955, launched Photonics West in 1974; it is now recognized as the largest optics and photonics conference in the world.
Photonics West is slated to run Jan. 30 through Feb. 4, 2027, in San Francisco. The Embedded Vision Summit, scheduled for Feb. 2-4, will be held as a distinct co-located conference within the Photonics West event.
