Mitsubishi Electronics America Inc. (Cypress, CA) has named Kiyoshi Kawakami as president and chief executive officer. He was previously general manager of the overseas marketing division for the Mitsubishi Electric Corp. industrial and factory automation systems group.
Data Translation (Marlboro, MA) has promoted Jeffrey Cronin to vice president of operations. He has served in various company manufacturing roles since 1992.
Cognex Corp. (Natick, MA; www.cognex.com) has promoted Glenn R. Wienkoop to chief operating officer for the company`s modular vision systems division (MVSD). He formerly served as both president of the surface inspection systems division (SISD) and executive vice president of engineering of the MVSD. Cognex also appointed Markku Jaaskelainen as corporate vice president and general manager of SISD. His most recent position was vice president of systems strategy at Honeywell-Measurex Corp.
