A free-to attend webcast from Vision Systems Design will discuss the issues involved in developing vision-based multiple web-inspection systems.

Web inspection systems are critical for automating the production of materials such as glass, textiles, and foil. Using multiple line scan cameras to image the entire swath of a web and both sides of the product leverages this useful technology for maximum effect, but doing so is neither simple nor straightforward.

In the webcast, Doug Wilson, the co-founder of PVI Systems (Niantic, CT, USA), will discuss the benefits and challenges of multiple line scan camera web-inspection systems and provide critical information on alignment and calibration necessary for success.

A case study -- the inspection of a glass-encased product by way of a dual-sided line scan system -- will serve to illustrate how this alignment and calibration is performed.

The webcast will take place on March 20 2012 at 1pm Eastern Standard Time. Those interested can register to attend here.
