AUGUST20--Braintech Inc. (North Vancouver, BC, Canada; www.braintech.com) has signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation (MOU) with Marubeni Corporation (Japan) that provides a framework for the companies to develop a series of comprehensive agreements surrounding Braintechs vision science and robotic expertise. Specifically, Braintech intends to grant an exclusive license for its eVisionFactory system to Marubeni for all of Japan and to extend nonexclusive rights for China, Korea, and other industrialized countries in the region.

Braintechs vision technologies allow industrial robots to effectively see and react to changing conditions within a factory environment. Braintechs vision-guided robotic solutions introduce intelligent and automated processes for handling and assembly of parts, which currently requires human operators controlling hard-to-calibrate and expensive fixed mechanical systems.

Owen Jones, CEO of Braintech, states, Im honored that Marubeni Corporation has chosen us as their robotic-vision-technology partner. With Marubenis capacity to deliver VGR solutions to a majority of industrial customers throughout Asia, I expect rapid growth for Braintech.
