PCI pushes 500MSPs

As a PCI-bus-compatible add-in board, the Compu Scope 8500/PCI is an 8-bit A/D card capable of sampling rates up to 500 Msamples/s. By using flash ADCs to perform the sampling, the board achieves a 45-dB signal-to-noise ratio with a dc to 250-MHz bandwidth. At the 500-MHz sampling rate, the board stores digitized data in on-board memory buffers that can store as many as 2 million samples. Using bus mastering, data can be transferred from on-board memory to PC memory at rates up to 100 Mbyte/s. F

For sampling rates lower than 100 Msamples/s, the 8500/PCI board is capable of writing data directly to the PC`s DRAM, allowing for memory buffers as deep as 1 Gbyte.
