Building on successful past year,IDS Imaging Development Systems (Obersulm, Germany) has increased sales of machine vision cameras and technology in the first three months of 2011. Roughly 15,000 cameras were sold in the first quarter. Compared to the previous year, the sales figures increased by 36% in the first three months. Torsten Wiesinger, Director of Marketing & Sales says, "The ambitious goals for 2011 are likely to be surpassed by another 20%.”

This year the company strategy is focused on expanding a new product line in the field of security technology and on increasing the presence in the core US and Japanese markets. IDS also plans to extend its cooperation with a number of universities in 2011 to attract skilled and ambitious employees in the long term. Wiesinger says: ”We will surpass the mark of 100 employees in 2011 and are currently recruiting for open positions.” Additionally, IDS offers a head start for young people and school leavers with its own apprenticeship programs.

Earlier in the 2011, IDS established a new sales office in Paris, allowing the company to provide extended support to customers in all French-speaking countries. The new director for our French office is Mithridate Mahmoudi, who is the former president ofIMASYS, a company he founded in 1991 to distribute products for digital imaging.

Jürgen Hartmann, the Managing Director and founder of IDS, notes that the Paris office is one more step in the company's growth. “In 2007, IDS started its international expansion with the US office in Boston, MA. Last year, we continued this trend with offices in Laguna Beach, CA, and Tokyo.”
