AUGUST 20--Feinfocus (Stamford, CT; www.feinfocus.com), a manufacturer of x-ray inspection systems and tubes, has appointed Frank Gitmans managing director of the company's global headquarters in Garbsen, Germany. In this position, Gitmans is responsible for all aspects of the company's headquarters operations, including research and development, system and tube manufacturing, sales, and profitability.
Gitmans brings a wealth of technological experience and business acumen to Feinfocus. Most recently, he was the managing director for Peter Wolters Surface Technologies GmbH, a machine-tool company located in Rendsburg, Germany, serving the semiconductor market. Prior to that, he was a technical manager at Fries Research & Technology GmbH, a systems manufacturer for nondestructive surface testing located in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany.
Gitmans earned a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Bonn in Bonn, Germany. He also holds a Ph.D. in thin-film technology and measurement technology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.
