A National Geographic photographer made use of robotic technology by deploying a MikroKopter UAV to provide a view of the Serengeti for a project in which he would capture never-before-seen images of lions in the wild. The customized robot featured a heavy duty aluminum robot chassis and hardware, two gear motors driven by a chain and sprocket, and a remote camera with WiFi capabilities.
