10th month: Filming a leap from the edge of space

Here was another "fun" one that we covered in our blog. In yet another example of vision systems operating in space, a set of high definition cameras were used to film the leap that daredevil Felix Baumgartner made in the Red Bull Stratos skydive. On live television, he fell from the edge of space at a speed of about 833.9 mph for a total of four minutes and twenty-two seconds, breaking the sound barrier. To film this feat, nine HD cameras, three 4K digital cinematography cameras, and three digital still cameras were used.
