Signal-processing IC serves cameras
The VSP2080 front-end signal-processing IC works with video, digital still, PC, and security cameras. It takes output signals directly from a CCD array and conditions the signals for analog-to-digital conversion. The IC provides correlated double sampling to ex tract video information from the pixels, analog control of 0- to 34-dB gain for varying lighting conditions, and black-level clamp ing. Packaged in a 20-lead TSSOP, the chip operates at 2.7 to 3.6 V, consumes 120 mW at 3 V, and takes 10 mW in power-down mode. Price is $2.25 in 1000-piece quantities. Burr-Brown Corp., 6730 S.
