NEC Technologies Inc. (Washington, DC) is installing an Automated Fingerprint Identification System for the Providence, RI, Police Department. Capable of conducting 3200 fingerprint comparisons per second, this digital imaging and communications system will maintain the existing 40,000 fingerprint records and support the department`s future criminal-identification needs.
