Cedip Infrared Systems continues push into surveillance markets

NOVEMBER 10--Cedip Infrared Systems (Croissy-Beaubourg, France; www.cedip-infrared.com) has announced the acquisition of PolyTech AB (Stockholm, Sweden; www.polytech.se).

NOVEMBER 10--Cedip Infrared Systems (Croissy-Beaubourg, France; www.cedip-infrared.com), a global supplier of high-performance infrared (IR) imaging cameras and systems, has announced the acquisition of PolyTech AB (Stockholm, Sweden; www.polytech.se), a manufacturer of gyrostabilized airborne platforms. Intended to be installed under helicopters, aircraft, and pilotless drones, these platforms carry various sensors and measurement equipment (such as cameras and IR measurement systems) that can be used for observation and monitoring in a range of military and civilian applications.

The acquisition, details of which were not revealed, marks a further move for Cedip in their development of innovative IR imaging solutions for military and civilian surveillance markets. Recently Cedip launched, PHAROS--a high-resolution multisensor platform specifically designed for short-to-medium range day/night surveillance applications.

Founded in 1989, Cedip Infrared Systems supplies infrared-imaging solutions for industrial, R&D, defense, and surveillance applications. The company offers a range of high-performance IR imaging cameras and systems incorporating the latest technology in optics, IR focal-plane array detectors, electronic hardware, and software. In 2004, Cedip achieved its fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth in revenue, with export sales accounting for 70% of turnover.
