AUGUST 30--Dutch Vision Systems B.V. (DVS; Breda, the Netherlands; www.dvs.nl) has opened a subsidiary in Falkenhagen, Germany. DVS is the largest company in the Benelux specializing in solutions for a wide range of industrial vision applications for the packaging, food, automotive, and glass industries. DVS will, with this new subsidiary (near Wolfsburg), expand its activities for the automotive industry in Germany.
DVS GmbH currently has five employees, who have good contacts in the automotive industry. Add to this the available vision technology of DVS Breda--130 man-years of vision experience and a large installed base--and there arises a strong player on the German market.
The first orders for machine-vision systems have already been placed. DVS expects that this extension of its activities will speed up its growth substantially for the coming years.
