An IP camera from Arecont Vision (Glendale, CA, USA) has been installed to monitor activities outside King Soopers' 550,000-square-foot distribution center located on the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains.

The AV20185DN-HB SurroundVIdeo 180-degree panoramic surveillance camera was installed on the side of the building to watch the guard shack, trucking lanes, parking and shipping and receiving areas.

The 20 Mpixel day/night camera provides a complete 180-degree view of the property, replacing a pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera that only captured the image in the direction the camera was pointed. A heater-blower enables the camera to operate despite temperature extremes.

King Soopers has future plans to add three Arecont Vision D4S-AV5115-3312 5 Mpixel dome cameras inside the warehouse to monitor activity on the shipping and receiving doors of the distribution center.

The company will also be adding multiple 3Mpixel cameras throughout the warehouse to replace current analog cameras.
