FLIR Systems announced the launch of the ChromaNox line of EMCCD low light security cameras.

PRESS RELEASE

FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:FLIR; Colorado Springs, CO, USA), the world’s leading manufacturer of thermal and lowlight security cameras, announced the launch of the ChromaNox line of EMCCD low light security cameras.

Incorporating advanced EMCCD (electron multiplied CCD) technology the ChromaNox cameras are available in VGA (640 × 480) and SXGA (1280 × 1024) resolution, and in color and monochrome models. The cameras deliver exceptional image quality in light levels from bright sunlight to dark starlight conditions. The cameras feature proprietary image processing algorithms to bring out hidden image details in difficult scene conditions.

Designed for demanding environmental conditions, ChromaNox cameras meet Mil-Spec operating temperature requirements of -40°C to 71°C, ensuring long-term reliable operation in the most demanding locations. A wide range of 1/2 inch format C-mount lenses enable both close situational awareness and long-range observation in light levels not considered possible with standard CCD and CMOS cameras.

The ChromaNox 6 (640 × 480 resolutions) features analog video and Camera Link digital video, while the ChromaNox 12 (1280 × 1024 resolution) features a Camera Link digital video output. The combination of near infrared response out past 1,000 nm and the unique on-chip gain amplification provide an important capability to security systems integrators and are the perfect complimentary technology to FLIR’s leading thermal security cameras.
