Mango DSP introduces cost-efficient MPEG-4 video surveillance solution
APRIL 28--Mango DSP (Jerusalem, Israel; www.mangodsp.com) has added the RAVEN-X IP Node to its family of video security solutions. The RAVEN-X uses the Texas Instruments (TI) TMS320DM642 processors to provide quad-channel MPEG-4 full D1 resolution surveillance system for less than $1000.
Ideal for OEMs providing CCTV video surveillance and networked video streaming applications, the RAVEN-X product family offers a scalable platform for high-performance video capture, processing, streaming, storage, and retrieval. The RAVEN-X is available as a private label OEM solution to manufacturers and integrators.
At the heart of the RAVEN-X are two media processing TI DM642 DSPs that run MPEG-4 video and audio compression, as well as the IP stack to support media streaming over IP. Other surveillance algorithms such as motion detection alarm and door control can be implemented as well.
The system supports four composite video inputs as well as four stereo inputs and eight programmable I/O signals. Two Ethernet connections provide video transmission over IP, as well as remote control and monitoring.
The RAVEN-X Node can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. Frame rates and image sizes are fully software-programmable for each camera, which allows the widest range of applications from fixed camera to dome camera installations with full PZTF control. Multiple RAVEN-X board can be linked together with DVRs over IP to create a large surveillance system.
