At SPIE Photonics West 2018, from January 27 – February 1, Photometrics will showcase its new Prime BSI scientific CMOS camera for applications including biomedical imaging and detection application. Prime BSI features a 4.2 MPixel backside-illuminated CMOS image sensor with a 6.5 µm pixel size and can achieve a frame rate of 47 fps with 16-bit data and 94 fps with 12-bit data. Additionally, the camera features a peak quantum efficiency of greater than 95% and multiple cooling options, including forced air cooling to -10°C and liquid cooling to -25°C. The Prime BSI camera is also available with an embedded signal processing engine that quantitatively restores images that are hidden in photon noise, while featuring a PCIe and USB 3.0 interface.
