Adding to its Go Series of machine vision cameras, JAI has introduced the GO-5100MP-USB camera, which is built around a polarized CMOS image sensor. The sensor is the IMX250MZR from Sony, which is a 5.1 MPixel sensor that features a four-way polarized filter design, which consists of four separate polarizing filters – angled at 0°, 45°, 90°, and 135° - that have been arranged in a regular pattern across the sensor. Each block of four pixels can be used as a calculation block to determine the angle and intensity of light reflecting from objects. Additionally, the machine vision camera features a USB3 Vision interface, enabling it to provide full resolution, 8-bit output at up to 74 fps, with 10-bit and 12-bit output also support.
