Industrial PC company Logic Supply has announced a collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), that will enable the company to offer PCs with pre-installed AWS Greengrass software with machine learning inference for Internet of Things (IoT) development and applications.

AWS Greengrass-Compatible hardware platforms from Logic Supply will enable users to run local compute, messaging, and data caching for connected IoT devices. With AWS Greengrass, connected devices can run AWS Lambda functions, keep device data in sync, and communicate with other devices securely, even offline, according to Logic Supply. Additionally, AWS Greengrass ML Inference enables devices to perform machine learning tasks locally, allowing builders to use machine learning models built and trained in the cloud, at the edge.

"The AWS Partner Network (APN) plays a key role in achieving our mission to empower builders," said Dirk Didascalou, Vice President, Internet of Things, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "We're excited that Logic Supply will be among the first of our APN Partners to offer hardware that comes pre-installed with AWS Greengrass with Machine Learning Inference, as Edge Computing continues to show incredible application potential across the IoT landscape."

Murat Erdogan, VP Products, Logic Supply, also commented: "We're excited to be working with AWS to provide developers the tools they need to create next generation IoT solutions," said Erdogan. "As an Advanced Partner in the AWS Partner Network [APN], we wanted to take the step to make AWS-powered IoT solutions as accessible and plug-and-play as possible."

Through the APN program, AWS has tested Logic Supply’s systems and designated them as “AWS Greengrass Compatible” Customers can now select AWS Greengrass with ML Inference as a pre-installed software on all industrial PCs. Available hardware options include the company’s recently-released, palm-sized CL200 Edge Device as well as their MC850 computer, which can accommodate dedicated graphics cards and other accelerators for edge-based machine learning and AI, according to the company.
